In February, Adsale had announced that CHINAPLAS of this year would be rescheduled from April to August due to the COVID-19 epidemic. In the wake of high degree of uncertainty in pandemic globally, the exhibition has been further postponed to April next year.

“In order to protect the ROI (Return on Investment) of exhibitors and visitors, we wanted to choose a good platform and good timing. That is the reason we postponed the exhibition to 2021,” explained Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd.

The Chinese government has decided to heavily invest in “new infrastructure”, such as 5G, AI, big data, etc., to speed up the recovery of the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. These investments will swing the momentum of the transformation of the Chinese economy, creating opportunities to the plastics and rubber industry, said Mr. Chu when emphasizing the new opportunities after the pandemic.

He also mentioned that the development of the Chinese economy will change focus from export to domestic market. As the size of the middle class is getting bigger, and people"s living standards are constantly improving, more attention will go to domestic demand, he remarked.

At present, 90% of CHINAPLAS 2021’s exhibitors have confirmed their plans to participate in the exhibition.

SWECC to satisfy the expansion of CHINAPLAS

As a hub of high-tech enterprises with the launch of the Greater Bay area scheme by the Chinese government and its leading position in 5G network infrastructure and industry applications, Shenzhen will be a good location for holding CHINAPLAS.

Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center was opened in September, 2019. There is an indoor exhibition area of 400,000sqm in its first phase, which can satisfy the long term development needs of CHINAPLAS.

The exhibition center is located close to Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, and is closely connected with the developed industrial cities in the Pearl River Delta via highways, subways and High Speed Rail. It is also the world"s first exhibition center with full 5G signals coverage.

Ms. Ada Leung, General Manager of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. explained that the exhibition halls of SWECC are all without pillars and located on the same floor, in particular suitable for exhibiting large machines and equipment, providing high flexibility to exhibitors and superior experience to visitors.

“CHINAPLAS+” = “online + offline” new trade services

Meanwhile, in view of online communication becoming the trend of connectivity amid the pandemic, CHINAPLAS has been promoting the “CHINAPLAS+” concept with “online + offline” new trade services, strengthening the combination of online and offline activities.

In April, 9 webinars on topics such as e-commerce packaging, 5G+ smart manufacturing, automotive smart & health cockpit were held with an audience of 3,000.

Moreover, an upgraded online suppliers’ database and brand new online business matching service will be launched in August. More dynamic online events including industry forums, technical webinars, virtual factory visits, etc., will also be arranged.
